National Junior Honor Society (NJHS)

Each year the St. Stephen’s Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society recognizes outstanding middle school students. New members are inducted at the end of their seventh grade year. Members of the NJHS must demonstrate excellence in scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. In addition to being recognized for their accomplishments, members strive to develop these qualities through their involvement in the school, local, national, and world communities. Members show SCHOLARSHIP by maintaining an overall GPA of 90 or above. Academic honesty, hard work, and a positive outlook are essential to success. Members demonstrate SERVICE through various service projects for the school and local communities such as raising money for Children’s Hospital and donating to local food banks and shelters. Students emerge as LEADERS by creating, planning, and working fun-filled school events and activities such as the Halloween Haunted House and decorating the school for Christmas. Finally, members demonstrate CHARACTER and CITIZENSHIP by spreading kindness and enthusiasm throughout the school.
