My name is Siobhan Pawelczyk and I teach a fun hands-on science lab for pre-K through to 4th Grade here at St Stephen School.

I also teach 3rd Grade Science curriculum and help coordinate STREAM throughout the school.

Firstly, I love science. All aspects of science. I love to share my enthusiasm and love for science with the students here at St Stephen School.

My path to teaching is not the traditional path, in fact, before teaching here at St Stephen School I had only taught medical students. I am a scientist by training and my qualifications are a B.Sc. in Pharmacology from the University of Sunderland and a Ph.D. in Cardiovascular Physiology and Pharmacology from the University of Nottingham. I moved to the United States in 1999 to do a post-doctoral fellowship in the Biomedical Sciences department at the Medical School at the University of South Alabama. It was at the University of South Alabama that I had my first experience of teaching.

I have been teaching at St Stephen School for about 4 years, firstly on a volunteer basis, and now as a member of the faculty. It really has been wonderful to watch the love of science blossom in so many students that I have had the pleasure to teach and I look forward to many more years of inspiring students to look at and question the world around them and search for answers.
