6th Grade Field Trip to the Carousel Museum

The sixth grade class recently had a fun-filled day at the Carrousel Museum in North Tonawanda. Students created their own simple machines, and then used this knowledge when learning about the carousels made right here in Western New York! On the tour, students learned about how the carousels are made, and how the makers use simple machines such as wheels, axles, levers, and pulleys to create the movement of the carousel. Finally, our day ended in a ride on one of the original carousels, also called a merry-go-round!
