Mrs. Corsini is the newest teacher to join St. Stephen School faculty in 2011 following the retirement of the former Art teacher, who served for 20 years.  Mrs. Corsini teaches art to all of the students from Pre-K through 8th grade. The students experience art at a deeper level than simply drawing  - they read about art, learn about famous artists and their works of art, discuss art, learn about other cultures, places and works of art – art becomes an interactive conversation. Art class includes different media and techniques, creating expressive visual images.  Mrs. Corsini also manages the Poster Club that meets once a month after school.
 
Mrs. Corsini received a Bachelor of Science degree with a Major in Graphic Design from the State University College at Buffalo.  She also holds NYS Teachers Certification in the Visual Arts (Birth – Grade 12) and is a member of the National Society of Decorative Painters. 
 
Community activities include the local chapter of the Buffalo Snowbirds where she holds the office of Secretary, 2011/2012.  Most importantly, Mrs. Corsini shares her talent by painting memory boxes that are donated to local hospitals for parents who have lost a child at birth. The boxes are used to keep any mementos belonging to the child.

Q. In your opinion, what is special about St. Stephen School?
A. I am a child from a large family, so the feeling of a family atmosphere is very important.  I am very excited to be here working with all of the artists at St. Stephen’s!
 
Q. Why did you want to become a teacher/administrator?
A. To share my knowledge and expertise in the art field.
 
Q. Do you have a specific goal to achieve through your teaching, a philosophy or desired outcome?
A. My goal is to create a safe, enjoyable environment for learning and growth in the visual arts. I look forward to working with your child this year! 
 
Q. Do your students often participate in certain contests or receive recognition?
A. In the past, many of the students at St. Stephen’s have won monetary awards for their winning designs in the many poster contests. My hope is to encourage and continue their success. Art work is displayed on the hallway bulletin boards and display case. St Stephen School student art work will also be on display for the months of July and August at the Grand Island Memorial Library, community room.
