Clubs & After School Programs Choir Club The Choir includes children from 4^th_ 8^th grade.  We meet 2 – 3 times a month after school in the music room to learn songs for Mass.  We sing these songs for the School Liturgy which is once a month. All grades must attend the monthly Mass and sit with their class.  The Choir sits together while singing the songs they learned for the Mass. _____________________________________________________ Cooking Club The Cooking Club for students in grades 3-5 meets once every quarter.  Students follow recipes to prepare, measure, mix, and bake.  In the past, students have worked together to make caramel candy apples, scones, cookies, and boxty.  At the end of each meeting, students are able to eat and enjoy the treats that they have prepared. _____________________________________________________ Math Club Students in grades 7 and 8 gather to practice solving Math problems with the goal of improving scores when competing in Math contests.  St. Stephen’s students participate in at least two contests, The American Mathematics Competition for Grade 8, sponsored by The Mathematical Association of America, and the St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute Math Contest for Seventh Grade. _____________________________________________________ Mileage Club The St. Stephen's Mileage Club was very successful this year. Mrs. Figler is happy to report that the 7th and 8th grade students accumulated 18,000 miles by converting activities that they participated in to miles. They improved their fitness levels and should be very proud of their accomplishments! _____________________________________________________ Mission Club Mission Club is open to all students from Grade 1 through Grade 8.  Their mission is to help others throughout our community.  They meet on the second Wednesday of the month.   _____________________________________________________ National Junior Honor Society The National Junior Honor Society is for 2nd semester 7^th, and 8^th graders.  Members are selected and work on developing leadership and character, and also work on various service projects. _____________________________________________________ Photography Club (1-2 Grade) Students learn to use disposable cameras to take indoor and outdoor pictures of people and places around St. Stephen School.  At the end of the year, they make an album of pictures they have taken. _____________________________________________________ Photography Club (6-8 Grade) Photography club is for students in grades 6, 7, and 8.  Students learn about photography and use photos in projects.  _____________________________________________________ Poster Club This club is open to students of all grade levels.  It is for any student interested in making posters and entering contests.  At the meetings, various contests are discussed and studetns may begin work on their posters, which they then complete at home.  Our success rate has been outstanding.  We have had many winners, and hopefully will continue to do so. _____________________________________________________ Scrabble Club Scrabble Club is for students in grades 3-8.  The club meets monthly and has fun playing Scrabble games, with the intent of working up to a school tournament. _____________________________________________________ More to come....
